Sin is a choice, not a hereditary substance. Sin is a state of the will, not a state of our nature. Men need Jesus Christ because they are sinners by choice. If we were born sinners we wouldn't deserve punishment because it is not our fault, and consequently we wouldn't need Jesus Christ. Men are born morally innocent and become sinners through their own free will. 'all have sinned' and 'all we like sheep have gone astray' implies the personal deliberation of our own will.
