Jessie and Webbie, I know it may be hard to accept, but, I Must accept what the Bible says - that, through Adam, sin entered the world and so death was passed on to all men because all have sinned. This passed-on sin is known as inherited sin. Just as we inherit physical characteristics from our parents, we inherit our sinful nature from Adam. Romans 5 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (KJV) If that verse wasn't in scripture, then fine, you win. But that verse Is in scripture, and we have to deal with it. I didn't put that verse there - God put that verse there. I am not defending sin. I am not looking for a way to justify sin in a believer's life. I am not trying to put the blame for sin on someone else. But I must defend scripture. And just because it doesn't make sense to someone else or me doesn't give me the authority to throw scripture out the window. And with regard to godliness - scripture tells us to deny ungodliness: Titus 2 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; (KJV)
